Rides from Gainsborough

Gainsborough is on the most western edge of Lincolnshire. The town is in the Trent Valley and a climb is necessary to explore into West Lindsey. Once up this climb the cycling is fairly flat until the Lincoln Edge is reached.

Most of the rides from Gainsborough are on the network of quiet country lanes that run between the major roads that connect the town with the rest of Lincolnshire. As the major roads transport the majority of traffic the “back” lanes make ideal cycling.

The rides from Gainsborough take you to the borders of neighbouring county, North Lincolnshire, travel along the Nottinghamshire border and visits one of the oldest canals in England. The rides pass churches that are hundreds of years old and villages that existed when the Domesday Book was compiled.
